ESL Educators: International Student Advisor

The International Student Advisor

Do you love learning about other cultures and inspiring students? The Columbia School of English is seeking an energetic and caring International Student Advisor with a strong background in teaching ESL. As an International Student Advisor you will join our management team and be given administrative responsibilities. The ISA will become an integral part of our students' lives by advising students, monitoring academic progress, filing necessary paperwork, and coordinating opportunities for cultural exchange. You will be expected to learn quickly and meet project deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Orienting new international students and placing them into classes
  • Processing documents for applying students
  • Attending the needs of current students
  • Building relationships and organizing engaging cross-cultural activities
  • Counseling and motivating students to succeed in school
  • Supervising student academic progress and planning their program


  • Must be highly organized and motivated
  • Experience teaching ESL students
  • MA TESOL or equivalent degree a bonus
  • Background working as a counselor a bonus
  • Experience learning and sharing about other cultures
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications
  • Experience organizing activities and events
  • Job references


Monday-Friday 10-5pm, $18/hour
